Measurement of Winding Resistance on transformers and shunt reactors
Winding resistance measurement can be used to verify the quality of the winding and its internal connections. It is also possible to check whether loose or detached connections, broken conductors or high contact resistances exist in tap changers. This prevents transformers or shunt reactors from heating up unacceptably or even causing faults in the insulation medium.
