Information Requirements
We take data protection seriously
Protection of your personal data is very important to us. Therefore, we always handle personal information that you enter on our portal with strict confidentiality and in accordance with the data protection provisions, particularly the German General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and German Federal Data Protection Act (new version of FDPA).
When you visit our website, our web servers save the IP address of your Internet service provider, the website from which you visit us, the pages you visit on our site and the date and duration of the visit by default. This information is absolutely necessary for the technical transmission of websites and secure server operation. This data is not evaluated on a personalized level.
If you send us data using a contact form, this data is saved on our servers as part of our data backup. We use your data exclusively for handling your requests. Your data is handled with strict confidentiality. It is not transferred to third parties.
Personal data
Personal data is data related to you. This includes, for example, your name, mailing address and e-mail address. You do not need to disclose any personal data in order to visit our website. However, in some cases, we require your name and address as well as other information to be able to provide you with the requested service.
The same applies if we send informational materials upon your request or respond to your inquiries. In this context, only data that you have sent to us of your own accord is stored, and we will always notify you of this.
When you use one of our services, we generally collect only data that is necessary to be able to provide you with this service. Provision of any additional information to us is completely voluntary. We process personal data in order to be able to offer you our service or to pursue our commercial goals.
Automatically saved data
Server log files
The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in server log files that your browser transfers to us automatically. These include:
- Date and time of the request
- Name of the requested file
- Page from which the file was requested
- Access status (file transmitted, file not found, etc.)
- Web browser and operating system used
- Complete IP address of the requesting computer
- Transmitted data volume
This data is not merged with any other data sources. Processing takes place in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f GDPR based on our legitimate interest in improving the stability and function of our website. For reasons of technical security, particularly to prevent attempted attacks on our web server, this data is stored by us for a short time. This data cannot be traced back to individual persons. After seven days at the latest, the data is anonymized by abbreviating the IP address at the domain level so that it is no longer possible to trace it back to the individual user. The data (in anonymized form) is also used for statistical purposes. No comparison with other databases or forwarding to third parties, in whole or in part, takes place.
Cookies
When you visit our website, we may save information on your computer in the form of cookies. Cookies are small files that are transmitted from an Internet server to your browser and saved on the hard drive. We only save your Internet Protocol address in this process – no personal data. The information stored in the cookies lets the website recognize you automatically when you next visit, making the site easier for you to use. The legal basis for the use of cookies is the legitimate interest in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 of the GDPR.
Of course, you are also able to visit our website without accepting cookies. If you do not want your computer to be recognized upon your next visit, you can also opt out of using cookies by changing the settings in your browser to "Block cookies." The procedure for this can be found in the user guide of your personal browser. If you opt out of using cookies, however, it may lead to limitations to the use of some areas of our website.
Which cookies do we use?
We have summarized and described for you all the cookies used on this website. Download description of cookies used on this website (PDF)
Use of Matomo web analysis service
We use the web analysis service Matomo on our website. Matomo uses cookies for this analysis. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and that allow for your usage of the website to be analyzed. The information generated by the cookies - for example, time, location and frequency of your website visits, as well as your IP address - is transmitted to our Matomo server and saved there. In this process, your IP address is immediately anonymized so that you as the user remain anonymous to us. The information generated by the cookie about your usage of this website is not transmitted to third parties. You can prevent cookies from being installed using the respective setting of your browser software. We do note, however, that you may not be able to use all functions of our website to their fullest extent in this case.
LinkedIn (Insight-Tag)
Furthermore, we use the so-called conversion tracking with LinkedIn Insights Tag, a tool of LinkedIn Ireland, Wilton Plaza, Wilton Place, Dublin 2, Ireland, on our website. For this purpose, the LinkedIn Insight Tag is integrated on our pages and a cookie is set on your end device by LinkedIn. This informs LinkedIn that you have visited our web pages, whereby your IP address is also collected. In addition, timestamps and events such as page views are stored. This enables us to statistically evaluate the use of our website in order to constantly optimize it. We learn, for example, through which LinkedIn ad or interaction on LinkedIn you came to our website. This allows us to better control the display of our advertising. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. a) GDPR. You can revoke your consent at any time.
For more information on conversion tracking, please visit https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a420536/linkedin-conversion-trackingubersicht?lang=en. Please note that the data may be stored and processed by LinkedIn so that a connection to the respective user profile is possible and LinkedIn may use the data for its own advertising purposes. For more information, please see LinkedIn's privacy policy at https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy. You can prevent the analysis of your usage behavior by LinkedIn as well as the display of interest-based recommendations via https://www.linkedin.com/psettings/guest-controls/retargeting-opt-out.
Google Ads
For advertising purposes in the Google (Google Ireland Ltd., Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland ("Google")) search results as well as on third-party websites, the so-called Google Remarketing Cookie is set when you visit our website, which automatically enables interest-based advertising by collecting and processing data (IP address, time of visit, device and browser information as well as information on your use of our website) and by means of a pseudonymous CookieID and on the basis of the pages you visit. Data processing beyond this only takes place if you have activated the "personalized advertising" setting in your Google account. In this case, if you are logged in to Google while visiting our website, Google uses your data together with Google Analytics data to create and define target group lists for cross-device remarketing. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. a) GDPR. You can revoke your consent at any time.
EVALANCHE
This website uses Evalanche to send newsletters. The provider is SC-Networks GmbH, Würmstraße 4, 82319 Starnberg. Evalanche is a service with which the newsletter dispatch can be organized and analyzed. The data you enter for the purpose of receiving newsletters (e.g. e-mail address) is stored on Evalanche's servers in Germany. Our newsletters sent with Evalanche enable us to analyze the behavior of the newsletter recipients. Among other things, we can analyze how many recipients have opened the newsletter message and how often which link in the newsletter was clicked. For more information about Evalanche, please visit: https://www.sc-networks.com/product. The data processing is based on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). You can revoke this consent at any time by unsubscribing from the newsletter. The legality of the data processing operations already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation. If you do not want any analysis by Evalanche, you must unsubscribe from the newsletter. For this purpose, we provide a corresponding link in each newsletter message. Furthermore, you can also unsubscribe from the newsletter directly on the website. The data you provide for the purpose of receiving the newsletter will be stored by us until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and will be deleted from our servers as well as from the servers of Evalanche after you unsubscribe from the newsletter. Data that has been stored by us for other purposes remains unaffected by this. For more details, please refer to the privacy policy of SC-Networks at: https://www.sc-networks.com/data-protection. We have concluded an order data processing contract with SC-Networks and fully implement the strict requirements of the German data protection authorities when using Evalanche.
YouTube in the extended data-protection mode
We use YouTube to embed videos. The videos have been embedded in the extended data-protection mode. Like most websites, however, YouTube also uses cookies in order to collect information about visitors to its website. YouTube uses this information to collect video statistics, prevent fraud and improve user-friendliness, among other reasons. This also results in a connection to the Google DoubleClick network. If you start a video, this may trigger additional data processing operations. We have no influence on them. Additional information about data protection with YouTube can be found in their privacy policy at: https://policies.google.com/privacy
reCAPTCHA
In certain cases, we use the Google Inc. reCAPTCHA service to ensure sufficient data security when transmitting forms. In particular, this service determines whether the entry has been submitted by an actual person or improperly through automated mechanical processing. The service includes transmission of the IP address and, if necessary, additional data required by the reCAPTCHA service, to Google. The differing data protection provisions of Google Inc apply in this case. You can find more information at: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en&gl=en
Online events
When you register for one of our online events, we collect certain personal data from you and process it. We do this specifically for the purpose of handling your registration and running the event. The legal basis for this is Article 6(1) (b) of the GDPR (concerning the performance of a contract). Your data will be erased after the event.
In accordance with the legal requirements of Section 7(3) of the German Act Against Unfair Competition, we are authorized to use the e-mail address that you specified upon conclusion of the contract for direct advertising of other similar products or services that we offer. You will receive these event recommendations from us regardless of whether you have subscribed to a newsletter. If you do not want to receive these recommendations from us via e-mail, you can object to the use of your e-mail address for this purpose at any time without incurring any costs beyond the usual tariffs associated with data transmission services. To do this, simply notify us in writing. Of course, every e-mail also contains an unsubscribe link.

Applicant management
As part of the process of application for employment, we collect various types of information. This includes, in particular, your personal data with contact information and a description of your education, work experience and skills. In addition, you have the option of submitting electronically stored documents, such as letters of recommendation or cover letters. We do not need any information from you that is not usable in accordance with the German General Act on Equal Treatment (race, ethnic heritage, sex, religion or world view, handicap, age or sexual identity). We request that you also refrain from submitting information about diseases or illnesses, pregnancy, ethnic heritage, political views, philosophical or religious views, membership in a labor union, physical or mental health or sexuality. The same applies to content that has the potential to violate the rights of third parties (e.g. copyright, German media law or general rights of third parties).
The personal data is collected, stored, processed and used only for purposes related to your interest in current or future employment with us and the processing of your application. In this way, you submit your profile for a specific advertised position. To use the online application process, we collect data such as your name, address, phone number, e-mail address, etc. The basic purpose of this data is to contact you about your application. Your information will be reviewed only for this position. It will only be reviewed for other vacancies if you have released your profile for this purpose. As soon as you apply by submitting your profile or registering, your personal data is processed by us in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 lit b GDPR in conjunction with § 26 of the new version of FDPA. Your data will not be forwarded to third parties.
For a speculative application, you submit your profile to us without applying for a specific position. When you release your profile, you permit us to review your profile for various employment opportunities.
After registering in our applicant management system, you can modify your contact data at any time. Please note that changes to your profile can have an effect on the entire application. In accordance with legal provisions, after completing the respective procedure, your data is deleted or anonymized for statistical purposes such that it can no longer be traced back to you.
If your application is successful, the provided data can be used for administrative matters related to your employment. Your online application will be processed and acknowledged exclusively by the relevant contact persons at our company. All employees involved in data processing are obligated to maintain the confidentiality of your data. Under no circumstances will your information be disclosed to third parties. The data is processed exclusively in Germany.
If we are not able to extend an offer of employment to you, we will retain the data you have submitted for up to six months in compliance with statutory retention periods so that we can answer questions in conjunction with your application and our declining to extend an offer.
In addition, you also have the opportunity of being added to our talent pool. In this case, we will write to you separately to give you the option to grant consent for this purpose. Your data is then stored beyond the statutory retention period to ensure that you can be considered for future job openings as well. You have the right to revoke your consent at any time. If you do not grant your consent, your application data will be deleted entirely.
JobAgent
Don't miss your opportunity to start a great career! You can subscribe to receive notifications of job openings via our JobAgent. We will only process your data that you share with us consensually for the stated purpose, and you can unsubscribe from JobAgent e-mails and services at any time.
PPA Analysis
As part of the recruitment process, we use the Thomas International GmbH Personal Profile Analysis tool (PPA). The PPA helps us to assess the suitability of applicants for employment within the company. The aim is the optimum utilization of potential employees within the company, taking their strengths and (behavioral) preferences into consideration. A high turnover rate and unsuitable work assignment are to be avoided wherever possible.
The result of the PPA is value-neutral. This is not a comparative process or evaluation with respect to general positive or negative suitability at all - the expedient utilization of employees in certain fields of activity, situations, and working environments is merely simplified by the PPA. The decision to hire an applicant is made solely by the company. The result of the PPA will be drawn upon to better structure the interview and to develop the potential working relationship between the company and applicant to be as positive as possible. Security
We have taken technical and administrative security measures to protect your personal data from loss, destruction, tampering and unauthorized access. All of our employees and all service providers working for us are bound to the applicable data protection regulations.
Whenever we collect and process personal data, it gets encrypted before it is transmitted. This means that your data cannot be misused by a third party. Our security measures undergo a constant process of improvement and our privacy policies are constantly being revised. Please make sure that you have access to the latest version.
Rights of affected persons
At all times, you have the right to information about your stored data, the right to rectification, erasure or restriction of processing of your data, the right to object to processing and a right to data portability and to complaints in accordance with the provisions of data protection law.
Right to information:
You can request information from us about whether and to what extent we process your data.
Right to rectification:

You can request that we erase your data, provided that we are processing it unlawfully or the processing interferes disproportionately with your legitimate protection interests. Please note that reasons may exist that prevent us from deleting your data immediately, such as in the case of statutory retention periods.
Independently of the assertion of your right to erasure, we will delete your data immediately and completely, insofar as we are not prevented from doing so by any legally mandated or statutory retention period.
Right to restriction of processing:
You can request that we restrict the processing of your data if
- you dispute the correctness of the data, in which case the restriction will extend over a duration that enables us to verify the correctness of the data,

Right to data portability:
You can demand that we provide you with the data you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and that you can transmit this data to another responsible party without interference from us, insofar as
- we process this data based on consent granted and retractable by you or to fulfill a contract between us and
- this processing takes place using automated processes.
Where technically feasible, you can request that we transmit your data directly to another responsible body.
Right of objection:
If we process your data out of a legitimate interest, you can object to, and revoke your consent for, this data processing at any time; this would also apply to any profiling based on these provisions. We will then no longer process your data unless we can prove the existence of binding reasons for processing that supersede your interests, rights and freedoms or that the processing serves the purpose of asserting, exercising or defending against legal claims. You can revoke your consent to the processing of your data for the purpose of direct marketing at any time without specifying reasons.
Right of complaint:
If you believe that we are infringing against German or European data protection laws in processing your data, we ask that you contact us to clear up any questions. Of course, you also have the right to contact the supervisory body responsible for you, which is the respective state office of the data protection commissioner.
To assert one of the aforementioned rights against us, contact our data protection officer. In case of doubt, we may request additional information to confirm your identity.
