High Current Test System
High current test systems are used to test the thermal stability of equipment such as cables. The test system induces a current in the test object causing it to heat up. Therefore, the test object is designed as a shorted circuit. The high current test system measures the temperature of the test object at various points, in addition to the current. As a special feature, the temperature that the test object should reach can be specified and the amount of the current can be automatically calculated by the HIGHVOLT test system.
Your Advantages at a Glance
-
Easy and compact setup for testing provided by fold-out cores
-
Convenient testing for combined tests by dual control of the high current and high voltage test systems
-
The temperature can be precisely configured and monitored by means of automatic current regulation
-
Data is automatically captured, evaluated, and logged, even for long-term tests
-
Temperature cycles can be freely set
Product Information
- For testing cables, generator stators, switching cells
- Short- term and long-term testing
The test system can be adapted to the specific requirements of each situation based on the exact test specifications. For example, when performing a type test on medium and high voltage cables, it is necessary to subject the test object to both high current and high voltage according to IEC 60840, and IEC 62067, which is made possible by combining a high current system with a high voltage test system. The HIGHVOLT test systems offer the ability to control both test systems over one single controller, which captures and evaluates the data facilitating subsequent test log creation a distinct advantage over other systems.
