Christmas Caroling We are meet at the gym at 4:45 p.m. today to go Christmas Caroling. Please dress up for the occasion by wearing a Santa hat, reindeer ears, or elf ears. We will be singing about 4 songs at each location and then loading up into cars and traveling to the next location. It is a whirl wind of activity. So, we will start at building and leave at 5 p.m. to go to Haciendas at Grace Village at 5:15 – 5:20 (we will divide up into groups there) then over to Sagecrest Nursing Center at 5:30-5:40; Casa Del Sol from 5:45-6 and then we will divide up to go to 3 other places at the same time (Heritage, Jean Armstrong, The Sprays) then head over to the Johnsons home for a meal and hot chocolate. We should be through around 7 – 7:30 p.m. This is always a lot of fun so if you enjoy singing Christmas carols please plan on attending. The van will not be picking people up, but I can take people home. So, grab your Santa hat and come deck the halls. High School Banquet This coming Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. is the high school banquet. We will have catered meal, exchange secret Santa, and watch a slide show. I will also recognize our seniors and their accomplishments over their time in the youth group. I hope that if you are in high school that you will be here to celebrate this special evening. We will also recognize an adult that has been helping with the youth group this past year. It is a wonderful way to end the year reflecting at all the events we participated in and the spiritual growth that took place. If you are unsure if you have a secret Santa, please check with Aubrey or Ever. Passover Meal The middle school will have their last class of the year this Tuesday from 7-8 p.m. We are having a special Passover meal that coincides with our study of the Exodus. We finished up Genesis several week ago and moved into Exodus. I thought this would be a fantastic way to end the semester. The vans will be running, and we will have a fun time sharing roasted lamb and other dishes associated with Passover. I hope everyone likes matzah because there is plenty of it at the meal, along with some grape juice. Don’t miss this special meal!
Movie Night The week that school is out we will go the movies to Watch Star Wars newest release on Wednesday December 20. At 6:05 p.m. at Telshore 12. Please pick up your tickets early, there are no passes or discounts. Both the middle school and high school are invited, you are to meet at Telshore 12 before 6 p.m. and we will try to sit together, although they have assigned seats at this Theater, so again, please buy your tickets early. You can go online NOW and pick them up. The movie is 2 hours and 45 mins long so plan on being there until 9:30 p.m. I will not be running the van, this is a family activity and the movie would have been on for about a week, so it should not be too crowded. This will be our last activity of the year. Please arrange your own transportation. This is just a fun activity that I thought the youth group would enjoy! Foot Washing We are passing out Christmas Stockings on December 20th that is the last day of school and we are also going to the movies later that day. So, if you are interested in helping with foot washing on that Wednesday please let me know. We are letting both high school and middle school participate. I will take a larger number of people this time since you only go to school half a day. If you need transportation, please ask. We pass out special Christmas stockings that have several pairs of socks, nail clippers, lotion and other foot care items. It is a great activity and good interaction with the homeless. Parents Page Today is rather crazy, we are having Bible Bowl, Drama, and Christmas Caroling all on the same day so I hope that your children can participate. Originally, I had them separated, but we combined with 2 small groups, so we could all participate together. I hope that you can help tonight, we need help with transportation and we are ending up at the Johnsons home 5411 Four Winds Place. Everyone needs to be here at 4:45 p.m. to leave on time. If you get separated, there are maps in the office and if all else fails you can meet us at the Johnsons around 6:30 p.m. One last thing, we are combining the middle school and high school on December 20 to watch a highly anticipated release of Star Wars. Those tickets need to be purchased in advance, so it is the Telshore 12 theater on Wednesday December 20 at 6:05 p.m. The cost is $10.50 per person. Thanks for a wonderful year! God Bless, David
