Retreat Report
We had 30 teens, 5 counselors, 6 adults and 2 children attend the fall retreat last weekend.  We had an exciting time with worship and listening to Cody Chumbley talk about resting in the Lord.  In fact, it was a very restful retreat, we had all of Saturday afternoon open to do whatever you like.  Many people took a nap or played card games.  I took a small group on a hike to the waterfall, and some just sat around and visited.  I think everyone had a wonderful time!  I especially want to thank David and Nola Fisher who worked in the kitchen preparing all the food, John and Beth Denney who helped with transportation and with the sound equipment.  Also, David Russell helped with transportation and overall comic relief.  Over all, we had 84 people participating, which is down from previous years, but only because 3 churches could not make it.  But still a sizable number.  I was encouraged by the great weather and the awesome response from everyone.  Thanks for supporting our youth ministry!

Fall Festival
October 31 is the Fall Festival this year held here at the gym from 5-9 p.m. This year, we will be having a Bible Maze, the Dry bones or dancing skeletons, and puppets.  So, if you are interested in helping with any of these areas, please let me know.  The Bible Maze will be from the book of I Samuel, so there are some strange things that happen in that book so we are looking for a boy to play young Samuel hearing the voice of God speak at the temple.  David and Goliath, and Saul searching for David.  We will also need some of our smaller teens to play the part of the Dancing Skeletons which is part of the Hay Ride.  Finally, if you were involved with Puppets at the Fair, we would like
for you to be involved with puppets at the Fall Festival.  We only perform 2 shows, so please be willing to participate.  Thanks for your help.

Stone Soup Fundraiser
If you are in Bible Bowl you are required to participate on our only Fund Raiser, called the Stone Soup Fundraiser.  This is where we get all our money for the Bible Bowl Trips.  So, mark your calendar for November 5 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Everyone in Bible Bowl is asked to bring a crock pot of homemade soup.  All the ingredients need to be jotted down on a note card along with the name of the soup.  Many people are allergic to gluten and milk so it is important to have the list of ingredients down.  We have the Saturyay group making the desserts and we will have bread and salad as well.  It is a big event and everyone encouraged to help clean up.   Presently, we have 7 Bible Bowl teams that is 28 people so that means our expenses for Bible Bowl have increased.  So please plan on helping us out that weekend!

Parents Page
We had 6 adults help with the fall retreat; David Russell, David and Nola Fisher, John and Beth Denney, and myself.  It was wonderful week and it was only possible with the help of our adults.   They stepped up and did amazing things throughout the weekend.  We transported 43 people up and back to the retreat.  I also would like to thank those that donated money for the teens to participate in the retreat.  We had a generous amount of money given to cover the cost of the retreat!  I wish I could mention all their names here but most of them give anonymously.  We are truly blessed to have the support of the church.   Things will slow down now (I am sure you are breathing a sigh of relief) we have the Fall Festival, The Blessing Ball, and Christmas activities left for the year, and that is usually fun and relaxing.  Thanks for all that you do for our teens.  God Bless, David
